RD class 2-8-0 number 1404 (Kitson 4905/1912) stands in the yard at Shalchiyah Works in the outskirts of Baghdad. She was delivered to Iraq in July 1945 as WD 70771 after use in Palestine, This was one of 92 locomtives of LNER 04 class requisitioned for War Department use in September 1941, 61 of which had been built for the Railway Operating Division in World War One - 13/3/1967.
