These pages are being set up to entertain & inform the world at large and provide a platform upon which to display the work of many photographers both alive & deceased in a manner that makes it widely accessible at little or no cost to those who wish to study it. There are of course costs involved in running this site & providing the digital equipment to continue the work. clicking on the country's name will take you to an index for that country in the few
cases at present where this is a live link to pictures in this gallery. Some of the
thumbnail pages within this gallery may well become quite large as time progresses and
could therefore become slow to load over a dial-up connection.The country names
reflect the political realities around the time that the photographs were taken and
in some cases therefore do not reflect current names or boundaries
